My pups go crazy for peanut butter, so I came up with a recipe of my own that would be easy to make and satisfy their obsession.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup quick oats
- 3 tablespoons almond milk
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (My secret ingredient)
- Cookie sheet
- Mixing bowls
- fork
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine dry ingredients-pancake or whole wheat flour and quick oats.
- Microwave peanut butter in a glass or microwave safe bowl and add to the dry ingredients. (The mixture will be crumbly)
- Blend milk, egg, and maple syrup and add to the dry ingredients and peanut butter.
- Knead the dough until it is thoroughly mixed. If it seems sticky, add some whole wheat flour until it becomes dough-like.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Use a spoon to create 1” balls of dough and drop onto the cookie sheet.
- Use a fork to cross hatch the top of each treat and place the oven until golden brown–at least 20 minutes.
- Cool and share with your canine bestie!
